Melting & Cleaning the Solder

Flame soldering is used to join the parts of a silver cup together. Sometimes cups get damaged in earthquakes, hurricanes, and other unforeseeable natural disasters; we fix them. The process is...

  1. Clean the parts with flux (a dilute acid) and heat
  2. Add extra solder if needed
  3. Hold the parts together until the solder hardens, sometimes a splash of water helps
  4. Clean the cup
